Daniel Davies, son of Dave Davies of The Kinks, is an English-American singer, guitarist and songwriter. He is best known for his work in the rock band Year Long Disaster as front man and lead guitarist. He also collaborated with the stoner rock band Karma to Burn as an occasional guitarist and vocalist. Davies continues to work as a solo artist and released his first EP, Hidden Faces in October 2011.

Career

With Year Long Disaster

In 2004, Davies formed Year Long Disaster with bassist Rich Mullins and drummer Brad Hargreaves. In 2005, the trio recorded their first EP with Mark Needham, producer for The Killers, and began touring nationwide. In 2007, they signed a recording contract with Volcom Entertainment and released their self-titled debut album later that year. They toured internationally for two years, then begun working on their second album, Black Magic; All Mysteries Revealed with award-winning producer Nick Raskulinecz. The album was released in March 2010.

Year Long Disaster has toured North America and Europe with Foo Fighters, Motörhead, The Cult, Velvet Revolver, Turbonegro, CKY, The Sword,...

With Karma To Burn

In 2010, Davies joined Instrumental band Karma To Burn as an occasional guitarist and singer. He provided vocals on "Waiting on the Western World" on Appalachian Incantation in 2010 and "The Cynics", "Jimmy D" and "Never Say Die" on V in 2011.

Solo artist

Early 2011, Davies started working on his solo project. He teamed up with drummer Jess Margera (from CKY and The Company Band) and bassist Brad Davis (from Fu Manchu) to record his first EP Hidden Faces. The five-song-EP was released digitally in October 2011.

CKY

Daniel toured with CKY during their scheduled Soundwave dates in Australia after Deron Miller left the band. A decision he announced via Facebook. In an interview, the band stated that they would continue making music under the CKY name with Daniel as vocalist and guitarist, but these plans have possibly been scrapped, due to Deron's return in 2013.
