The Danehill Stakes is a Victoria Racing Club Group 2 Australian Thoroughbred horse race held at set weights conditions, with penalties, for horses aged three years old over a distance of 1200 metres. It is held annually at Flemington Racecourse in Melbourne in September.[1] Total prizemoney for the race is A$220,000.
Race history
In 1994 the race was renamed in honour of Danehill, the leading sire of winners in Australia for nine consecutive seasons (1996–97 to 2004–05).
