Dan Ahdoot

Dan Ahdoot is a stand-up comedian who primarily performs in New York City. He is well known for being a contestant in NBC's reality TV show Last Comic Standing and for performing on Comedy Central's Premium Blend.

Early life

An Iranian Jew, Ahdoot grew up in Great Neck, New York.[1] "I grew up in Great Neck, N.Y., which is actually a hotbed of Iranian Jewry, so I didn't really know that I was very different until I went to college." He completed pre-med studies at Johns Hopkins University but did not continue to medical school.

Career

Moving to New York City, Ahdoot helped found an improv comedy troupe, wrote freelance for Crank Yankers, and opened for such headlining comedians as Lewis Black, Jay Mohr, and Dave Chappelle. Ahdoot has made numerous guest appearances, including ABC's 20/20 and Jim Breuer's Sirius Satellite Radio program. On January 10, 2011, Dan appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.[2] He's also a recurring character, as the falafel restaurant owner "Falafel Phil" from Khakhmakhistan, in the show Kickin' It on Disney XD.
