At present, DWIZ is considered as one of the top stations in the AM band in Metro Manila and is recognized as the best AM radio station in the Philippines by the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas or KBP.

History

DWIZ was formerly known as DZPI from March 20, 1949 to September 23, 1972 owned by Philippine Broadcasting Corporation. DZPI renamed as DWIZ on September 24, 1972 after being sold to a company owned by PBC former Ambassador and Colonel Antonio L. Cabangon-Chua. In 1992, The new company became known as Aliw Broadcasting Corporation. In 1996, the station awarded as the Best AM station in the KBP Golden Dove Awards.

On January 3, 2014, DWIZ recently signed a 3-year memorandum of agreement with Radio Philippines Network (now carrying Solar News Channel and Radyo Ronda) for the expanded coverage of the both TV and radio networks nationwide. Selected programs of this will be simulcast on the Radyo Ronda Network. [1] [2]

Using Tagalog as its medium, it brings much needed information and entertainment to its listeners all over the Philippines and neighboring Asean countries, targeting the upper four economic classes. DWIZ is headed by Rey Langit & a formidable team of broadcasters.
