Danny Bokelmann (born 6 June 1978), better known under his stage name D-Bo, is a German rapper and record producer.

Biography

1999–2002: Life and early career

D-Bo was in contact with Bushido since 1999. Besides his rap career he was the trainer of a basketball team. Together with Bushido, King Orgasmus One and Bass Sultan Hengzt he founded the hip hop label I Luv Money Records.

In autumn 2000, he recorded his first album Deutscha Playa in Berlin. Other parts of the underground album were produced in Osnabrück, Hannover and Freiburg. At the end of 2000 D-Bo was a founding member of the German underground-rap distribution company Distributionz.

In 2002, he left the music business and turned to basketball, where he taught a teenage team in the state of Niedersachsen.

2004–2007: ersguterjunge

In 2004, Bushido asked D-Bo to found their own label after former left Aggro Berlin. D-Bo moves to Berlin. Features and co-productions on tracks by Bushido follow.

In the same year, he re-released his first solo album Deutscher Playa on CD. In February 2005 the second album Deo Volente followed. He called his own musical style radical. He was present on the ersguterjunge-samplers Nemesis as well as on the produced video. In June 2006, D-Bo released his third album Sellenblut. In December 2006, he released the second label sampler Vendetta, which included a solo track titled "Was ist das?" and several guest parts of him. The Limited Edition features the bonus track "Ich fliege über Rap".

His fourth album Sans Souci released October 2007 and the titular song released as single. The video to the single reached the 1st place off the Urban TRL-charts. The album contains guest parts of Chakuza, Sprachtot, Eko Fresh, Summer Cem, Nyze, Billy13, Abaz and Reign.

2008–2009: Exit of ersguterjunge and fifth album

In 2009 D-Bo left ersguterjunge, which most people thought was because of a dispute with Bushido or the other signed artists. D-Bo later explained that his decision was driven by the desire to do his own thing and that there were no disputes. He also said that he still is in contact with Bushido and ersguterjunge.

Later in the same year, he founded the label Wolfpack Entertainment, where he released his fifth album Die Lüge der Freiheit.
