The Dâu pagoda (Vietnamese: chùa Dâu), temple names: Diên Ứng (延應寺), Pháp Vân (法雲寺), also known in Vietnamese as Cổ Châu, is a Buddhist pagoda at xã Thanh Khương, huyện Thuận Thành, Bắc Ninh Province,[1] 30 km from Hanoi. The date of construction was between AD 187 and 226. Dâu Pagoda is the oldest Buddhist pagoda in Vietnam and where the exchange of between Buddhist from India and the northern. It has unique architecture, plays an important role in Vietnamese Buddhism.[2]

The pagoda is in the area of the remains of the ancient citadel and Buddhist center of Luy Lâu.[3]

Dâu pagoda contains a big tower, a lot of ancient stone statue, many sacred buddhistic statue. In which, Hoa Phong is a big and tall tower, placed in the center. The tower was built by large bricks, heated in a very long time. After many of years, Hoa Phong has still remained majestically and solidly.

The festival is held on 8th of lunar April and is one of the largest Buddhism festivals in the northern plains and midlands.[4] Festivals are a great time to visit pagodas and offer incredible opportunities to observe first hand that complex mix of origins, religion, myths, legends, sound, music, history and culture that make up Vietnam.[5]
