Cythera is a role-playing video game developed by Glenn Andreas and published by Ambrosia Software for Mac OS 7-9.

Gameplay

Cythera features a point-and-click interface with user-positionable and resizable windows. In order to provide these features, the game was closely integrated with the Mac OS window system.[1] Upon starting the game, the player is presented with a choice of gender, portrait, and archetype—a preset combination of attributes, skills, and aptitudes. The archetype does not affect gameplay beyond character creation; the training points that the player receives at each level-up can be used to increase any attribute or skill, regardless of the chosen archetype.[2]

Plot

In the game, the downfall of the king is near, causing many factions to vie for his power. The player arrives shortly after the start of the struggle onto the island.
