History

Cymax.com was founded in 2004 by Arash Fasihi, selling primarily television stands and entertainment furniture. The business launched its first website specializing in TV stands, Audio-Video-Furniture.com, in the fall of 2004.[4] The company eventually grew to sell products on 115 niche web sites.[5] In response to the Panda search engine ranking algorithm update made by Google.com in 2011,[6] Cymax began to consolidate products onto fewer websites. Today Cymax operates fewer than 3 microsites and focuses on selling home and office furniture through their flagship store, cymax.com. The CEO and founder, Arash Fasihi, was nominated for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2010 (Pacific Region, Business to Consumer Category).[7]
