Cumbres Institute

Cumbres Institute (in Spanish: Instituto Cumbres) was founded in Mexico City, Mexico by Marcial Maciel of the Legionaries of Christ in 1954 in the neighborhood of Lomas de Chapultepec.[citation needed] Many years later, there were campuses extending all over Mexico and other Latin American countries such as Brazil, Chile, and Venezuela.[citation needed] The first Cumbres campus was founded in Lomas de Chapultepec "1954" with the name Instituto Cumbres Lomas.

Cumbres Institute is not the only school in Latin America run by the Legionaries of Christ. The other legion schools are the Irish Institute, Oxford Institute (not related to the university in England), CEYCA, Alpes Institute, Andes Institute, Maddox Academy, Cozumel School, and Colegio del Bosque.[citation needed] These schools have the same system and they count with Kindergarten, primary school, and secondary school. and highschool
