History

Crescendo formed in 2003 as a trip-hop band before evolving into an electronic outfit after the band disintegrated leaving duo Dan Akerman and Jonson Walker, with a pre-paid rehearsal room filled with instruments and time to experiment with sounds.

Influences and Styles

The band have varying styles on different songs which range from synth-pop, through psychedelia to slacker rock. They have cited[2] The Postal Service, The Beta Band, The Flaming Lips, The Chemical Brothers, Pavement and The Stone Roses as major influences. The band use Drum Machines and Samplers for the crux of the rhythm section augmenting this with live bass played by themselves on the recordings and Stephen Blackwell at the live shows.
