Craig W. Chenery (born Sept 1974) is a British born award winning author and screenwriter, with a particular interest in the zombie, horror, comedy and special effects genres. Chenery is also a songwriter, improvisor and voice-over actor.
Writing
Craig W. Chenery is the author of the critically and commercially acclaimed award winning "Blood Splatter: A Guide to Cinematic Zombie Violence, Gore and Special Effects".[1] Blood Splatter is an in depth look at how the zombie genre has been defined by gore and special effects. Over two years of research, Chenery interviewed dozens of seasoned genre professionals, including Greg Nicotero, Tom Savini, John Russo and Lloyd Kaufman of Troma Entertainment. Since its release, Blood Splatter has placed in Amazon.com's top 100 horror books on many occasions. Chenery is currently working on his follow up.
Chenery is the co-author of the "Butch G. Cat" series of children's novels with Danny Renfroe. Butch G. Cat is the creation of Terry Angus, a Jim Henson puppeteer and master fabricator who worked extensively with Henson in the 1980s on numerous Muppet specials and performed multiple lead characters in the hit children's television show Fraggle Rock. The first two books in the series were released in late 2012 and book three is due for release in Summer 2013. Additionally books are currently being written. The brand was officially launched at the 2012 Orange County Children's Book Festival in Orange County, California. A feature length movie is currently in pre-production.
Chenery has also contributed stories and articles to numerous horror and Steampunk anthologies.
Chenery is also an active member of The Gentleman's Club Comedy Improv troupe.[2] The troupe is Arizona's only long form three man monoscene Improv Troupe and were nominated for Arizona's Best Comedy or Improv Troupe two years running.

Convention Appearances
Chenery is a noted zombie film specialist and has been invited to make appearances and speak at numerous conventions on the subject. In 2012, Chenery was invited to present at the 2012 Phoenix Comicon on the evolution of special effects in zombie cinema. In 2012, Phoenix Comicon attracted over 32,000 attendees. He was also a guest at the Rapture Horror Expo in October 2012.
In 2013, Phoenix Comicon invited Chenery back to present new panels to packed rooms, including A Visual History of Zombie Cinema and a ten year retrospect of cult classic, Shaun of the Dead.[3] Chenery was also a guest judge at the Zombie Beauty Pageant.
In July 2013, Chenery will be appearing at Monstercon in South Carolina and will be back at the Rapture Horror Expo in October.

Chenery's work has been positively reviewed by numerous print publications including Fangoria Magazine,[4] Rue Morgue Magazine,[5] Gore Noir Magazine,[6] Ultra Violent Magazine, Z Magazine,[7] Stiff Magazine,[8] and genre websites such as Dread Central[9] and Bloody Disgusting.
Awards
In April 2013, "Blood Splatter: A Guide to Cinematic Zombie Violence, Gore and Special Effects" was voted "Best Horror Reference Book" in the 2013 Dead Letter Horror Awards.
