Conrad Stoltz (born 23 October 1973) is a triathlete from South Africa. He competes in triathlons and is four time World Champion of the XTERRA Series and ITU Cross Triathlon World Champion of off-road triathlon races.

Born in Lydenburg (in the Mpumalanga province of South Africa) he now calls Stellenbosch (near the city of Cape Town), South Africa his hometown while he is based in Bend, Oregon, when competing in the United States.

Stoltz started competing in the multi-sport disciplines of duathlon and triathlon through his involvement in cycling. He is most famous for his exploits in the XTERRA series of off-road triathlons where he claimed the World Championship in his rookie season (starting the season without sponsorship) in 2001 and successfully defended it the following year, and won also in 2007 and 2010.

Trivia

It is also in this series that he earned the nickname "Caveman" in all likelihood due to a combination of his large stature – he is 6 ft 4 in (1.93 m) tall and weighs between 176 lb (80 kg) and 180 lb (82 kg) – and his speed on downhill sections of the mountain biking leg.

He recorded the fastest time in the cycling leg of the first ever Olympic triathlon at the 2000 Summer Olympics and usually the mountain biking leg is also his strongest of the three legs (due to his cycling background) that make up an off-road triathlon (the other two being swimming and trail running).

Stoltz finished 7th in the 2005 World Championship event held on his 32nd birthday on 23 October 2005 in Maui, Hawaii.

After an injury-ridden 2006 season, Stoltz again asserted his dominance in the XTERRA US Championship series by winning four of five races, including the final, to be crowned 2007 US Pro champion. He then completed the season by also winning the World Championship.
