Comité Colbert

The Comité Colbert is an association "to promote the concept of luxury."[1] The members are 75 French luxury brands. It was founded in 1954[1] by Jean-Jacques Guerlain.

Métiers or Trade Sectors

The association is divided into eight métiers or trade sectors.[1] The sectors are:

  • Haute couture and accessories
  • Perfumes
  • Jewelry
  • Designer homeware
  • Hotel and gastronomy
  • Wines, champagne, and cognac
  • Publishing
  • Decorative arts

The association does not include luxury automobiles because France does not manufacture any luxury automobiles.[1]
