Colias tamerlana is a butterfly in the Pieridae family. It is found in the East Palearctic ( W.Siberia, N. China and Mongolia).

Description

A large and very dark Colias.

Biology

The larva feeds on Oxytropis oligantha

Subspecies

  • C. t. tamerlana Xinjiang, Kirgizia (E.Issyk Kul)
  • C. t. mongola Alphéraky, 1897 Altai, Sayan
  • C. t. sidonia Weiss, 1968 N. Mongolia

Taxonomy

Accepted as a species by Josef Grieshuber & Gerardo Lamas [2] May be a subspecies of Colias nastes [3]
