Clubland TV is a music channel broadcasting on Sky channel 383 and Freesat channel 510 in the United Kingdom. It features upbeat pop and dance music videos and is based from the Clubland compilation albums. As of March 2008, the channel had five times the viewing ratings than its main competition MTV Dance.[1] On 9 November 2013 Clubland confirmed on its Facebook page it was looking into getting ClublandTV onto more platforms. The channel is not available on FreeView or Virgin Media, but it has however provided a stream of the channel on the All Around the World Website for those people that cannot currently receive the channel.

History

The channel launched on 28 January 2008, and was broadcast on Sky channel 378 until 4 August 2008 when it moved up the EPG along with the other music channels as part of Sky's EPG Re-shuffle.

The channel was initially run in partnership with Mushroom TV Ltd, former operator of Channel AKA and Starz TV, as this company had an established system for the operation of viewer-voted music channels. On 17 February 2010 Clubland's broadcasting was changed to a brand new, bespoke playout facility. The text number for song voting changed as did some song voting codes, and the channel is now broadcast in 16:9 widescreen format (having been in 4:3 during the Mushroom era.) The channel is now solely controlled (including all playout and technical support services) by the team behind the highly successful Clubland compilation album series.[2]
