Climax Studios is a British computer games company, based in Portsmouth, who are known for their contributions to the Silent Hill franchise.

History

Since its formation in 1988,[1] Climax Studios has developed video games for many of the world’s major Video Game publishers.

Climax Studios is a development studio which specialises in making character action games, although they have worked in most genres during their history. They are currently developing games on PS3, PS4, XB360, XBoxOne, very high performance PC, Vita, browser PC and iOS. In addition they have published titles on PSN and XBLA.

Climax Studios has development experience of all console formats and are registered developers with Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo and Apple. They have just completed working with Sony and Microsoft Studios. In the recent past they have worked with Activision, Konami Europe, Konami America, Codemasters and 2K games.

Climax Studios is based in the city of Portsmouth, which is on the South Coast of the United Kingdom and today consists of a single studio based at Gunwharf Quays. Their 12,000 square feet, studio is home to well over a 120 staff across all disciplines and looks out across the Solent and Portsmouth Harbour.
