Claudemir Domingues de Souza (born 27 March 1988), commonly known as Claudemir, is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Danish Superliga side F.C. Copenhagen.

Career

Early career

Born in Macaúbas, Claudemir played youth football for União São João and Palmeiras before turning professional in 2007 with São Carlos.

Vitesse

After one season he signed for Dutch club Vitesse. Over the next two years, Claudemir made a total of 76 appearances in the Eredivisie.[1]

F.C. Copenhagen

On 20 June 2010, Claudemir signed for Danish team F.C. Copenhagen on a five-year contract, where he received jersey number 6.

Claudemir turned out to be important for Copenhagen in their 2010-11 UEFA Champions League campaign, culminating in an equializing goal against FC Barcelona on 2 November 2010 at Parken Stadium, to the result 1-1. After the match, Claudemir was chosen for the Team of the Week by Goal.com.[2]

In Copenhagen's next UEFA Champions League campaign, in the 2013-14 season, Claudemir scored a late goal in the 3-1 loss against Galatasaray at Türk Telekom Arena on 23 October 2013.
