Citizenship judge

A citizenship judge is an official of the Canadian government who reviews applications for Canadian citizenship and presides over Citizenship Ceremonies to administer the Oath of Citizenship for successful applicants for Canadian citizenship.

Citizenship judges are appointed by the Governor in Council on the recommendation of Minister of Citizenship and Immigration. Citizenship judges are not addressed as "Your honour" and are identified and introduced as "Judge (name).
