Ciarán Joseph Griffiths (/ˈkɪər.ən/; born 3 March 1983; Manchester, England) is an English actor, best known for his roles as Gary Best in The Bill, Mickey Maguire in Shameless and Dylan Hodge in Waterloo Road.

Biography

Aside from his long-running roles in The Bill and Shameless, Griffiths has made guest appearances on Coronation Street, Clocking Off, Waterloo Road and numerous other programmes.[2]

In 2007, he starred alongside Conrad Westmaas in the short film The Visitor. He also appeared as "Psycho" in the film There's Only One Jimmy Grimble.

Griffiths attended St Mary's RC High School in Astley near Leigh, between 1994 and 1999; it was during this time that he starred in Children's Ward at the age of thirteen.

He stars also in the British vampire film Dead Cert which is directed by Steven Lawson.[3]

He also appears in Waterloo Road as Dylan Hodge on series 6 in 2010/2011.

In the August 2011 issue of Attitude Magazine, Griffiths takes his top off and appears sporting a red boxing kit. Photos from the shoot were also taken at Cloud 23 Bar in Hilton Hotel, Manchester.

He has also done a couple of adverts, including the BT vision advert where he is featured having his hair washed.[citation needed]

Trivia

Griffiths is an avid supporter of Manchester United.[4]
Griffiths is of maternal Irish descent.[5]
