Charles V. "Chuck" Mather (April 17, 1915 May 20, 2006) was the 27th head football coach for the University of Kansas Jayhawks for four seasons, from 1954 until 1957.

His overall coaching record at Kansas) was 11 wins, 26 losses, and 3 ties (.313), ranking him 18th at Kansas in terms of total wins and 34th in terms of winning percentage.[1]

Mather was the high school coach of Don James, who started his coaching career under Mather at Kansas as a graduate assistant. James was later a head coach at Kent State (197174) and Washington (197592).
