Christoph Theinert

Christoph Theinert, born in 1959, is a German cellist and composer. Having studied with Antonio Janigro, Antonio Meneses, Anner Bylsma and Hidemi Suzuki, he developed special interest in early music interpretation on period instruments. Founder of the group German Baroque, he performed with Taka Kitazato, Hidemi Suzuki, Corrado Bolsi, Linde Brunmayr. The composer Christoph Theinert was influenced by Heitor Villa-Lobos, Lukas Foss, Steve Reich, Egberto Gismonti, Giovanni Sollima, Jean Michel Jarre and Philip Glass. He records for the label Ancient Music Edition. As a soloist he regularly works with his brother, the conductor Markus Theinert.
