The videography of American entertainer Christina Aguilera includes 32 music videos, four video albums, and four film appearances. Aguilera achieved early fame when she appeared in the Disney Channel television series The New Mickey Mouse Club (1993–94). In 1999, Aguilera rose to fame with her self-titled debut album with four hits: "Genie in a Bottle", "What a Girl Wants", "I Turn to You" and "Come On Over Baby (All I Want Is You)", all of them have their music videos.[1] In 2001, Aguilera was featured on the music clip for "Lady Marmalade" with Mýa, Lil' Kim and Pink, garnering two MTV Video Music Awards at the 2001 ceremony, Video of the Year[2] and Best Video from a Film.[3]
David LaChapelle directed the music video for "Dirrty", the lead single from her fourth studio album Stripped. It was criticized due to its sexual content, and even sparked protest in Thailand.[4] Meanwhile, the clip for the second single from the album, "Beautiful", was praised by the GLAAD (Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) organization for the positive portrayal of LGBT people in it.[5] In 2004, Aguilera made a cameo debut in the film Shark Tale, where she also sang "Car Wash" with Missy Elliott.[6] The same year, she also appeared on Nelly's video "Tilt Ya Head Back", in which she portrayed Marilyn Monroe.[7]
Director Bryan Barber directed the music video for "Ain't No Other Man", the first single form Aguilera's fifth studio album Back to Basics (2006); it depicts Aguilera as her then newly established alter ego Baby Jane.[8] In 2008, Peter Berg directed Aguilera's video "Keeps Gettin' Better", in which she portrayed a blue-haired "Speed Racer" and a catwoman.[9] From 2009, she started working in her first feature film Burlesque alongside Cher, which was released in late 2010.[10][11] Commercially, the film became a success, garnering over 89 million US$.[12] From 2011 to 2013, Aguilera appeared in five music videos, "Moves like Jagger" with Maroon 5,[13] "Your Body",[14] "Feel This Moment" with Pitbull,[15] "Hoy Tengo Ganas de Ti" with Alejandro Fernández,[16] and "Let There Be Love".[17]
