Christian Schumann

Christian Schumann (born on January 14, 1983 in Freiburg (Germany) - ) is a German symphony conductor.

Schumann was trained as a pianist, then completed his studies in conducting and composition at the University of Music "Franz Liszt" in Weimar, Germany and simultaneously was influenced by various mentors like Peter Eötvös, Pierre Boulez, Vladimir Jurowski, George Hurst, Gustavo Dudamel, Frank Strobel among others.

After his debut at the Staatsoper München he'll follow his invitations across Europe, Asia and Russia. He conducted among other orchestras the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra, the Nürnberg Symphony Orchestra, the Philharmonia Orchestra London, the London Philharmonic Orchestra and the Symphony Orchestra of St. Gallen, Switzerland. His work stretches out over the symphonic repertoire, the world of opera, contemporary music and also film music.
