Johan Christian Georg Hambro (born 18 May 1946) is a Norwegian attorney and former civil servant.

He was born in the UK[1] as the son of Edvard Hambro and his wife Elisabeth (née Raverat). His grandparents were C. J. Hambro and Gudrun (née Grieg) on the paternal side, and Jacques Raverat and Gwen (née Darwin) on the maternal side. He is therefore of Norwegian (Hambro, Grieg), French (Raverat) and English (Darwin) descent.[2][3] He is the great-great-grandson of the naturalist Charles Darwin.[4] He is also a nephew of Cato, Carl Joachim and Johan Hambro.[3]

He is a jurist by education, he served as director of the Norwegian Pollution Control Authority from 1981 to 1986 and of Statskonsult from 1986 to 1992.[1] From May to September 1986 he was a State Secretary for the Minister of Justice in the Brundtland's Second Cabinet.[5] From 1992 to 1995 he was a sub-director in the private sector; in the company Saga Petroleum. From 1995 to 2004 he was the managing director of the Research Council of Norway.[1]

Since 2004 he is a partner in the law firm Gram, Hambro & Garman in Oslo. He has been chairman of the Transparency International, Norwegian chapter since 2010.[6]
