Christel Adnana Khalil (born November 30, 1987) is an American actress.

Early life

Khalil was born in Los Angeles, California. Her mother, Belita Edwards, is of African American, European American and Native American descent Cherokee, and her father is of Pakistani descent. Her maternal grandmother, Alberta Edwards, is of African American and Native American descent. Her maternal grandfather is Caucasian. Khalil has three older brothers: Alex, Adam, and Chris and a younger half-sister, Aysha.

Career

Khalil is best known for her role as Lily Winters Ashby on the CBS soap opera The Young and the Restless. She first played the role from August 15, 2002 until September 2, 2005. Soon after she left the soap, Khalil was replaced by Davetta Sherwood. Sherwood was let go seven months later by Lynn Marie Latham in favor of Khalil, who officially returned to the show on November 7, 2006.

Khalil had small roles in movies such as Dragon Fury, Matilda, Interview With the Assassin and White Like the Moon. She also voiced Cornelia Hale in W.I.T.C.H., and also appeared on That's So Raven and Malcolm in the Middle, among other shows. Khalil also performed in numerous theater productions in her youth.

Personal life

On September 21, 2008, Khalil married Stephen Hensley.[1] "The Young and the Restless" co-star Elizabeth Hendrickson served as a bridesmaid while Bryton James was a groomsmen. Their son, Michael Caden Hensley, was born on April 17, 2010.[2] The couple separated in February 2011. In May, Hensley stated on twitter that they were divorcing. On Valentine's Day 2012, Khalil confirmed on the CBS show The Talk that she was no longer married.[3]
