Chris Paddie or Christopher Paddie[1] is the current Texas state Representative for District 9.[1] He serves on the Energy Resources and Land & Resource Management committees. [1]
Service
Paddie currently serves as Mayor of Marshall and General Manager of KMHT Radio where he hosts a daily talk show.[1] He has never voted to raise taxes on residents during his years on the City Commission. As mayor he made reforms that have kept the city fiscally sound during the national recession.[1] He is also the former Chairman of the Greater Marshall Chamber of Commerce and President of the Boys & Girls Club of the Big Pines.[1]
Political views
Paddie is a strong fiscal and social conservative Republican.[1] He voted for the pro-life SB5 to ban abortions after 20 weeks and require doctors to be registered at hospitals within 30 miles of their office.[2] Paddies declined to join his East Texas colleagues Bryan Hughes, David Simpson, and Matt Schaefer in signing a Texas Values letter to the Boys Scouts of America asking them to keep the ban on gays.[3]
Personal life
He attends Immanuel Baptist Church with his wife and two sons.[3]
