Christopher Michael "Chris" Floyd (born June 23, 1975) is a retired American football fullback who played in the National Football League for the New England Patriots and the Cleveland Browns. He had previously played for the Michigan Wolverines football team where in the 1997 NCAA Division I-A football season, his final year at Michigan, they won a National Championship. Chris attended Cooley High School in Detroit.

College

Floyd helped the 1997 team win the national championship at the Rose Bowl.

In four years at Michigan, he totaled 623 yards rushing on 148 carries and added 125 yards receiving on 14 receptions. As a fullback he did not carry the ball frequently and only totaled more than 10 carries in two ball games.[1] In the 1997 championship season, he was the blocking back for rushing leader Chris Howard and freshman Anthony Thomas. He also protected 1997 starting quarterback Brian Griese. The undefeated 12-0 1997 Michigan Wolverines football team emphasized defense behind 1997 Heisman Trophy winning defensive back Charles Woodson.

Professional career

Floyd had modest professional totals of 33 yards rushing on 14 carries and 43 yards receiving on 4 receptions.
