In 1993, Braide recorded his first solo album "Chapter One - Chris Braide" for Polydor Records. The album was produced by Thomas Dolby and Simply Red's Mick Hucknall.[29]
In 1996, Dave Stewart signed Braide to his Warner Brothers backed label Anxious Records who released a single co-written with Chris Difford "If I Hadn't Got You", and second single "Heavenly Rain", followed a year later by the album, Life in a Minor Key,[30] which was co-produced by Braide and David A. Stewart at Electric Lady Studios in New York. The record was released in the US on Atlantic Records.[31][32]
Side projects
Producers was co-founded by Braide and fellow record producers Trevor Horn, Steve Lipson. Braide officially left the group in 2008 after relocating to Los Angeles, though he occasionally returned to perform live with them and continued to contribute to their debut album, Made in Basing Street, released in June 2012.
In 2012, Braide completed work with legendary musician Geoff Downes on a new project called "Downes Braide Association" (DBA). A full length album, Pictures of You, was due in November 2012 on Cherry Red Records and a vinyl version on Plane Groovy Records. Classic Rock magazine gave the album rave reviews describing it as "An absolutely stunning piece of work".
Human Feel is an album of electro pop produced and performed by Chris Braide and featuring Theophilus London, and Cathy Dennis under the name of Hello Leo. It was released on limited edition yellow vinyl and download in November 2012 on Plane Groovy Records.
