Chirawa is a village in Jhunjhunu district of Rajasthan in India. It is part of Shekhawati region. It is known for Takat Hazara-painted havelis.
Geography
Chirawa is located at 28°15′N 75°38′E / 28.25°N 75.63°E. It has an average elevation of 294 metres (965 ft). Chirawa is one of the oldest and biggest village of Shekhawati region, and was a hub for this region since it was a junction for Jhunjhunu, Khetri, Sultana, Mandrela, Pilani, Loharu, and Surajgarh. It is well connected with sultana, the education hub of Rajasthan. The Rajasthan Legislature approved way to transform govt.senior sec. scool is just on the inskirts of Chirawa.
Description
Chirawa has many old havelis (private mansions) such as,Dalmias, Sakserias,Somanis, Suraj Mal Shiv Prashad, Jasrapuria Ki Haveli, and Shrimalon Ka Mahal and Pasari.There is a Jain temple situated in Shrimalon Ka Mohalla that is about 150 year old.
Schools in kithana include Chirawa College and Dalmia Girls School, Adarsh Vidhya Mandir School, etc.
Chirawa is known for its market, and is a regional hub for the majority of the economic, commercial, and political activities as it is connected with the railroad lines. Its annual Gugaji Maharaj mela (festival) draws visitors from all over the Shekhawati region. The real estate market in Chirawa is thriving and provides a good investment opportunity. Chirawa is also known for a sweet named Peda. Pedas are very much famous here. And there are 2 bus stops in Chirawa, old one is known as Kabutarkhana and new one is Jhunjhunu bus stand.
People
Multi-ethnic people, with majority of Hindu population, live together peacefully. People are very hospitable. The picture of ancient India's hospitability and warm welcoming to unknown guests is peculiar to the area.A famous Mandir Bawaliya Pandit Gugooji Ka mandir. Pandit Ganesh Narayan Ji temples gain huge local devotees, daily. His divinity was guru of popular Dalmiya Family. As of 2001 India census,[1] Chirawa had a population of 37,210. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Chirawa is famous for provide teacher, army man and Chartered accountants. Many C.A. of agarwal community provide there service across India and some part of foreign country.

Ramkrishna_Dalmia, wrestler Guru Hanuman Yadav and Jaidayal Dalmia were born in Chirawa. hail from the Jhunjhunu district. The big names include Birla, Piramal, Modi, Shrimals, Singhania, Goenka, Poddar, Pareek and Kanodia, Agarwals.
