Biography

Chippy (Credited as Shilpa in Kannada films) is an actress in the South Indian film industry and works primarily in Malayalam and Kannada films.She won Filmfare Award for Best Actress - Kannada & Karnataka State Film Award for Best Actress for her performance in Janumada Jodi.[1]

Career

Her debut movie was directed by Bharathan directorial Padheyam (1993), starring Mammootty. She also acted in the 1996 Kannada blockbuster film, Janumada Jodi, which broke many records in the Kannada film industry and screened successfully for 500 days. She received the Karnataka State Film Award for Best Actress award from the Karnataka government for her role portrayal in the same film.She has also received many accolades for her performance in various popular Malayalam soap operas and is currently doing the lead role in 'Aakashadoothu' on Surya TV.She has acted in some advertisements.

Personal Life

Chippy completed her schooling from Nirmala Bhavan Trivandrum. She is married to M.Renjith on 24 May 2001.The couple have a daughter Avanthika who is in her 6th grade. Chippy and her husband now produce Malayalam films under their banner Avantika creations. Chippy has a sister Drishya working in Kuwait airways who got married to Mithun and settled in Kuwait.
