Chip Shields (born 1967) is a Democratic member of the Oregon State Senate since appointment in September 2009. He previously represented District 43 in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2004 until appointment to replace Margaret Carter in Senate District 22. Senator Shields' recent committee assignments include: The 2011 Regular Session Education and Workforce Development General Government, Consumer and Small Business Protection, Chair. Joint Health Care Transformation Health Care, Human Services and Rural Health Policy Legislative Audits and Information Management and Technology. For the 2011 Interim General Government, Consumer and Small Business Protection, he was the Chair. Health Care, Human Services and Rural Health Policy State Courts Revenue Structure (HB 2710). Ways and Means Subcommittee On Education. For the 2012 Regular Session- General Government, Consumer and Small Business Protection, he was Chair.
