Chikhli is a city and a municipal council in Buldana district in the state of Maharashtra, India. It is located on the Pune-Nagpur highway.

Deulghat (Dewalghat) is a small town located near Chikhli. The Anuradha Engineering College [located approximately 4 KM from main city] and the Abhinav College of Education,SRC BAMS college such higher studies colleges are located in Chikhli.

History

A well known town named Mera Bk comes under Chikhli Tahsil. Mera Bk is known for most employed people. The people in this town are majority well educated, employed, developed, political & doing advance farming in the chikhali area.Chikhli is home to Renuka Devi's temple.[1]

Culture

The ancient historical temple of Renuka Devi is situated in the heart of city. The only one Temple of Makardhawaj Maharaj is situated in the nearby village Khandala and hence the name of village is Khandala Makardhwaj. Makardhwaj is son of lord Hanuman (Maruti)

There is large celebration on Hanuman Jayanthi, where thousands of People join the Rally and Celebrate their faith towards Renuka Devi. There is Panchmukhi Mahadeo Temple on road Khamgaon.

Also in addition,there is a cotton factory in chikhli that's why most of the people got employment. World Famous Baba Saillani darga is situated 17 KM from Chikhli. The additional seed processing is also carried out throughout sourcing. The high capacity plants are located at Chikhali.

As of 2001 India census,[3] Chikhli had a population of 58,428. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Chikhli has an average literacy rate of 74%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with male literacy of 81% and female literacy of 67%. 13% of the population is under 6 years of age.The rate of literacy is high due to school facility available and awareness in the people. Marathi is main language of communication.

Prominent Places

Renuka Devi is deity of Chikhli. Renuka Devi temple is located in the heart of the town. The temple is a marvellous monument. Chaitra pournima is an auspicious day when Renuka Devi "Yatra" is organized1111. [Khairullah Shah Baba] Darga is in the center of city.

Lord Shiva Mandir in the old town is another spot worth visiting. The Pandharinath Patil's samadhi situatate near his school Shri Shivaji high school.

Khirullah shah miyan dargah is the best religious place located in Chikhli. We can say it is present exactly in center of chikhli which is very much precious one. peoples from all over Maharashtra visit over there for "ZIYARAT" at the time of URS and Sandal. This Sandal is held exactly after three days of holi festival.
