Chicomuselo is a municipio (municipality) in the Mexican state of Chiapas, and also the name of the municipality's largest settlement and the seat of the municipal government. The municipality has an area of some 1,043 km², and had a census population (INEGI 2000 figures) recorded of 24,994 inhabitants.[1] Chicomuselo is currently suffering the exploitation of land in the hands of the Blackfire exploration LTD a mining company from Canada[2] url=http://www.blackfireexploration.com/
