The Chestnut-rumped Heathwren (Hylacola pyrrhopygia) is a species of bird in the Acanthizidae family. It is endemic to Australia. Its natural habitats are temperate forests and subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests.
Conservation status
Australia
Chestnut-rumped Heathwren are not listed as threatened on the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999.
Victoria
- A subspecies of the Chestnut-rumped Heathwren (C. p. pyrrhopygius) listed as threatened on the Victorian Flora and Fauna Guarantee Act (1988).[2] Under this Act, an Action Statement for the recovery and future management of this species has not been prepared.[3]
- On the 2007 advisory list of threatened vertebrate fauna in Victoria, this species is listed as vulnerable.[4]
