Cherating

Cherating is a beach town in Pahang, Malaysia, located about 47 km north of Kuantan. It is the location of Asia’s first Club Mediterranee ("Club Med").

Cherating also houses a cultural village and a turtle sanctuary. The turtles lay their eggs between July and August.

Climate

Cherating is one of the wettest place in Malaysia with heavy rainfall all year round. 2012 is the driest but still exceeds 3,000 mm (120 in) of rain while 2011 is the wettest by far with more than 7,500 mm (300 in) as recorded by Department Of Irrigation & Drainage Malaysia
