Restatement
On July 24, 2001, the company restated the earnings per share to conform with Emerging Issues Task Force (EITF) 00-10, Accounting for Shipping and Handling Fees and Costs.[1] On May 13, 2004, Checkpoint Systems, Inc. revised its income tax expense and restated its financial results for fiscal years 2003 and 2002, resulted in an increase in income tax expense and a corresponding reduction in net earnings by $3.6 million in fiscal year 2002 and $0.7 million in fiscal year 2003.[2]
