Chaux-des-Crotenay is a commune in the Jura department in Franche-Comté in eastern France.
Battle of Alesia
Danielle Porte,[1] a professor at the Sorbonne, has argued that Chaux-des-Crotenay is the site of Alesia, the last major battle between the Gauls under Vercingetorix and the Romans under Julius Caesar.
