Chastoozersky District (Russian: Частоозерский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[2] district (raion), one of the twenty-four in Kurgan Oblast, Russia. It is located in the east of the oblast. The area of the district is 1,926 square kilometers (744 sq mi).[citation needed] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Chastoozerye.[1] Population: 5,924 (2010 Census);[3] 7,762 (2002 Census);[6] 9,178 (1989 Census).[7] The population of Chastoozerye accounts for 46.4% of the district's total population.[3]
