Charmila is a popular film actress in Malayalam cinema. Apart from movies in Malayalam lanuguage, she also acted in Tamil, Telugu and Kannada movies.[1][2] She completed almost 38 films in Malayalam film industry, which is often referred to as Mollywood.[3]

Early life

Charmila is born to Veterinary doctor Manoharan and Haise, in a Malayali family settled in Chennai. She studied in Holy Angels Convent and Ethiraj College for Women.[4]She has a younger sister Angelina.

Family

She is married to Rajesh, an engineer by profession. The couple have a son, Adonis Jude.[5]She is settled in Saligramam, Chennai.[6] Recently she got separated from her husband.[7]

Film career

Charmila made her debut on the silver screen with Oyilattam and went on to act in a couple of movies including Kizhakke Varum Pattu.[8] She made her debut in the Malayalam film Dhanam, directed by Sibi Malayil.[9]

She hosted a show Jillunu Oru Sandhippu on Vijay TV,[10] and participated in Jodi Number One on the same TV Channel.[4]
