Charlotte Tilbury

Charlotte Tilbury is a British make-up artist.

Early life

Charlotte Tilbury was born in London to artist Lance Tilbury and location expert Patsy Dodd. She and her parents moved to Ibiza when she was 9 months old. Aged 13, Charlotte moved to England to attend boarding school, where she first experimented with the transformative power of make-up.[1]

Career

Charlotte attended Glauca Rossi School of Makeup in London.[2] She began her career assisting make-up artist and mentor Mary Greenwell, who she first met aged 11.[3]

Charlotte now works with top photographers including Mario Testino and Mert and Marcus; supermodels such as Kate Moss and Gisele Bündchen; and magazines such as Vogue, Vanity Fair, LOVE and V Magazine.[4] Her portfolio includes high-profile fashion shows and campaigns such as Tom Ford, Michael Kors, Donna Karan, Rachel Zoe and Missoni.

In October 2012, Charlotte launched a YouTube channel providing make-up tutorial videos and a blog.[5] Charlotte is professionally represented by Art Partner.[6] In September 2013 she launched her revolutionary new make-up collection, available online at www.charlottetilbury.com, including signature products such as 'Charlotte's Magic Cream', that she has been mixing for years and is well-known in the industry for its use backstage by models and celebrities alike.

Personal life

Charlotte married writer and actor Charles Forbes in Ibiza in 2006. They live in West London with their son, Flynn.
