Charlotte Christian School is a Christian college preparatory school for junior kindergarten through twelfth grade students. It is located in Charlotte, North Carolina, United States.
Organization
Founded in 1950, the independent, Protestant/non-denominational school is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). Charlotte Christian School's mission statement includes "equipping and developing students to effectively integrate Biblical Truth and learning into their daily lives and impact the culture for Christ".
Since 2008, the school has served as the home ground for the American professional soccer team Charlotte Eagles of the USL Pro. The Lancer is the schools newspaper.
Athletics
Charlotte Christian competes in the 3-A division of the North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association (N.C.I.S.A.A.) ( The Knights Varsity Baseball team has won the past six NCISAA state championship titles, except for their loss in the state championship to Wesleyan Academy in 2008, and eight out of the past nine. They have also won the CISAA conference title nine out of the last ten years.
Charlotte Christian's Varsity Football team won the NCISAA state championship last year 24-21 against Providence Day School.
Notable alumni
- Daniel Bard, attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is currently an MLB pitcher for the Boston Red Sox.
- Seth Curry, point guard for the Memphis Grizzlies
- Stephen Curry, attended Davidson College and is an NBA point guard for the Golden State Warriors.
- Todd Fuller, center N.C. State University, Golden State Warriors, Utah Jazz, Charlotte Hornets and Miami Heat of the NBA.[1]
- Jeremy Thompson, graduated from Wake Forest University and is currently an NFL defensive end for the Green Bay Packers.. .
- Eric Gunderson, graduated in 2003 and sings for the country band Love and Theft (band) The band has played with Taylor Swift . Their hit Runaway made it to the top 10 on Billboard's country single chart
