Charleta Tavares is a Democratic member of the Ohio Senate, representing the 15th district since her election in November 2010.[1] Prior to her election to the Senate Tavares served in the Ohio House of Representatives, as Chief of Children's Protection Services,[2] and as a City Council member in Columbus, Ohio. She ran unsuccessfully for Ohio Secretary of State in 1998 and for Lieutenant Governor of Ohio in 2002.[3]
