Charles Buthod
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Charles Louis Buthod (1810–1889) was a French luthier, best known for his violins and cellos. He was based in Paris. His reddish brown violins dating from 1850 to 1870 are described as quite nice, though later work varies in quality. The name and label were taken over and used by the Thibouville-Lamy company - the labels of these being undated and with the quality varying a good deal.[1]
