Charles Bodle (1787 – October 31, 1835) was an American politician and a U.S. Representative from New York.

Biography

Born near Poughkeepsie, New York. He married Esther Wood, and they has one daughter, Catharine Sarah.

Career

Bodle was a wagon maker by trade, and was a Justice of the Peace. He held several political offices in Bloomingburg, Sullivan County, New York. From 1827 to 1833 he held the office of Supervisor of the town of Mamakating.[1]

Elected as a Jacksonian to the Twenty-third Congress, Bodle was a United States Representative for the seventh district of New York from March 4, 1833 to March 3, 1835.[2]

Death

Bodle died in New York, New York County, New York, October 31, 1835 (age about 48 years). He is interred at Bloomingburg Cemetery, Bloomingburg, New York.
