As of the 1991 Bangladesh census, Charfasson has a population of 342038. Males constitute 51.49% of the population, and females 48.51%. This Upazila's eighteen up population is 148319. Charfasson has an average literacy rate of 25.5% (7+ years), and the national average of 32.4% literate.[1]
