Champion is a former settlement in Nevada County, California.[1] It lay at an elevation of 2264 feet (690 m).[1] Champion is located on the Deer Creek, 1.25 miles (2.0 km) west-southwest of Nevada City.[2]

The Champion mine was across Deer Creek from the town/[2]
