Chala is a census town in Kannur district in the state of Kerala, India and is situated 8 km from kannur town and lies on Kannu-Tellichery National highway.
Demographics
As of 2001 India census,[1] Chala had a population of 15,530. Males constitute 47% of the population and females 53%. Chala has an average literacy rate of 83%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with male literacy of 86% and female literacy of 81%. 12% of the population is under 6 years of age.
