Central Tapanuli Regency is a regency in North Sumatra. Its seat is Pandan. In 2010, the regency covered an area of 2,158 square kilometres and according to the 2010 census it had a population of 310,962.[1]
Tourist sites
Central Tapanuli beaches are ideal for surfing, although are not familiar as Nias Island. The regency has 30 islands and one of the biggest is Marsala Island with 8,000 hectares (1 hour by motorboat from Sibolga) and has a waterfall which directly drops to the sea; around 100 meters from the waterfall drop the water still plain taste and the corals are unique and beautiful.[2]
