History
Celina Tent got its start from a small hardware & rental store which started in the 1950s named Myers PRO Hardware and had 2 locations operating in Celina, Ohio as well as Cridersville, Ohio. Celina Tent, Inc. began as Celina Tent Rental, Inc. in 1996 when it purchased the rental inventory from the Myers PRO store and began renting tents, tables, chairs, and other event products.[2]
In 1998 Celina Tent Rental began manufacturing its own line of tents.
In 2003 Celina Tent Rental, Inc. changed its name to Celina Tent, Inc. and began to focus on manufacturing for the tent & event markets.
In 2005 Celina Tent, Inc. sold its rental division[3] to a local family, the Rose family of Maria Stein. After purchasing the rental inventory of tents, tables, chairs, as well as the rental contracts they changed the business name to Reliable Rentals, Inc. Reliable Rentals continues to serve the Grand Lake area and beyond.
In 2006 Celina Tent received a contract from the Department of Defense [4] (Defense Logistics Agency) to produce HGPTS (Humanitarian General Purpose Tent Systems) used in disaster relief operations such as earthquakes, tsunamis, and hurricanes.
On September 29, 2009 a tsunami struck American Samoa destroying many structures throughout the territory. DLA-DSCP worked with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to provide 16’ x 16’ humanitarian tents manufactured by Celina.
