Cedric Lamar Jackson (born March 5, 1986) is an American professional basketball player. While playing for the Cleveland State University Vikings, he had a game-winning full court shot against the Syracuse University Orange.[1] He is also known for taking Cleveland State past Wake Forest in the first round of the 2009 NCAA Tournament.[2]
High school and college career
Cedric Jackson went to Northern Burlington Regional High School in Columbus, NJ. Northern Burlington and Cedric were featured in the Prime Time Shootout, a showcase for the top HS basketball teams. He was a first team all-state selection his senior year among other selections and averaged 26 points per game. Jackson began his collegiate career at St. John's University in Queens, New York. On April 4, 2006 Jackson announced was transferring from St. John's.[3] His decision was based in part on a desire for more playing time.[4] After transferring from the Red Storm, and sitting out the NCAA mandatory school year, Jackson starred at Cleveland State, helping them make two straight postseason appearances.
Pro career
On January 23, 2010, Jackson signed an 10-day contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers.[5] Jackson went on to make his debut later that day against the Oklahoma City Thunder, playing a little over two minutes.[6]
On February 2, 2010, the Cavaliers signed Jackson to a second 10-day contract.[7] After his second 10-day contract expired, Jackson returned the Erie BayHawks of the NBA D-League, with whom he had begun the season.[8] On March 10, Jackson signed a 10-day contract with the San Antonio Spurs.[9] When the contract expired, he again returned to the Erie BayHawks.[10]
On March 31, 2010, Jackson was called up to the NBA for a third time in a season, as he signed a 10-day contract with the Washington Wizards.[11] On April 10, 2010, he signed with the Wizards for the rest of the 2009–10 season.[12] On April 14, 2010, he had career highs in points and assists (8 points and 4 assists) in a 98–97 win over the Indiana Pacers.[13]
On December 29, 2010, Jackson was traded from the Erie BayHawks to the Idaho Stampede.[14]
In April 2011, he signed with Enel Brindisi in Italy, where he played 2 games.[15]
On August 12, 2011, Jackson signed a one-year deal with the New Zealand Breakers of the Australasian NBL.[16] For the 2011–12 NBL season, Jackson finished fourth in MVP voting was selected to the All-NBL First Team. Jackson led the league in both assists (6.4) and steals (2.5) per game.[17]
He joined the San Antonio Spurs for the 2012 NBA Summer League.[18][19]

On February 5, 2013, Jackson was named the NBL Player of the Week for Round 17, picking up his 4th NBL weekly award.[22]
On March 24, 2013, Jackson was awarded the National Basketball League’s Andrew Gaze Trophy for Most Valuable Player in the 2012–13 season.[23] He was also selected to the All-NBL First Team.[24]
